Headway Bedford
Headway Bedford has a Headway House day unit for people with non-degenerative acquired brain injury, their families and carers. Provides physical, cognitive and social rehabilitation activities in a participative and "fun" atmosphere. On-site services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, memory, cognitive classes, computer tuition and group work. Advice and information available. Runs a 24 hours on-call helpline. Day unit staff also visit families in their homes, encouraging participation by carers in their relatives programmes. State funding is via Health and Social Services contracts.
