Headway Highland
Headway Highland, a charity registered in Scotland SC 023551, was established in 1994 to provide support in the vast Highland Region. A newsletter is published 4 times per year and distributed free of charge to all our members. A counselling service is available free of charge to members. Liz Wilson is our part-time development worker. Headway Highland in the Inverness area
We have one meeting each month in the evening for members to meet together to socialise, take part in activities or hear speakers on various relevant topics.
This meeting is on the last Thursday of each month (except July and December) from 7.00 pm until 9.00 pm held in Inshes Church in Inverness.
Headway Highland in Fort William
In March 2010 a local support group was opened in Fort William as part of Headway Highland. The local number to contact for this area is Shirley McNeill on 07748 013507. The meetings will be at the An Drochaid Centre, Claggan, Fort William PH33 6PH on the first Monday of the month from 7.00 pm until 9.00 pm.
Headway Highland in Caithness
March 2011 saw the opening of a local support group in the Caithness area as part of Headway Highland. A monthly meeting is held currently trying out different venues around the Caithness area. The local person to contact is Karen Macdonald on 07765 675954 for more information on the meetings and venues.
Further expansion
Headway Highland has a plan to expand the local support groups. We anticipate that there will be groups in Ullapool, Skye and Oban before the end of 2013. Headway Highland is currently wishing to increase the expertise on the Committee. In particular we need someone with experience of organising fundraising events and anyone with some spare time to devote to the wellfare of brain injury survivors.
