Based in Guildford, Headway Surrey provide a range of support and services for those affected by brain injury, their families, carers and friends across the County of Surrey and surrounding areas.
Services are divided into three main areas:
A cognitive rehabilitation programme is run at Headway House in Guildford, currently on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These are run on a group basis and referrals can be made either individually or through Surrey Social Services.
The Community Support service works with people in their own homes. Again, the focus is on cognitive rehabilitation but emphasis is placed on vocational and social rehabilitation and supporting families and carers.
The Carers Group meets monthly, at Headway House, Guildford, on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.. These meetings are open to all carers and families and form the basis for a self support network which is widely used by members.
Headway Surrey also runs a social Drop In service from 10.00 until 2.00 on Fridays, open to anyone with an interest in brain injury or who is looking for advice, a Befriending Service and a telephone helpline - 01483 454433.
