Making Headway campaign
The Making Headway campaign has now ended. This information is provided for archive purposes, and will still prove useful in supporting local campaigning for better services.
Would you like to improve services for people with a brain injury, their carers and families, and be involved in the Making Headway Campaign?
The National Service Framework for long term neurological conditions (NSF) was published in March 2005 and intends to improve the treatment care and long term support of people with a neurological condition by 2015.
We at Headway do not believe that the NSF has been taken seriously enough, as progress has been slow off the mark. Furthermore we are concerned that the views of those affected by brain injury, their carers and families are still not being properly listened to.
The Making Headway Campaign hopes to change this, by raising awareness of the NSF, encouraging its implementation and ensuring that anyone who has been affected by brain injury is able to get their voice heard.
There are a number of ways to be involved in this campaign, so if you are interested please keep reading!
National Service Framework for long-term (neurological) conditions
The National Service Framework (NSF) for Long Term Conditions has been published to improve the treatment care and support of people affected by neurological conditions.
It outlines eleven quality standards which health and social care organisations must meet by 2015. These standards will help to ensure you have better access to services throughout any stage of your care from acute to rehab and that the services you receive are built around your needs and choices and above all promote your independence and quality of life.
