Minor head injury research
This area of our research section focuses on recent studies of minor head injury.
Approximately 85% of head injuries fall into this category and the majority of people make full recoveries within a couple of weeks. However, a significant minority can experience debilitating symptoms, such as fatigue, depression and concentration difficulties, for weeks or even months afterwards and the reasons for this are not fully understood.
These symptoms are collectively referred to as post-concussion syndrome and the articles reported here examine various aspects of the treatment and effects of this condition.
