Lyons Davidson raise over £14,000 in April for Headway
11 May 2010
Judith Brightman and Peter Revell ran and finished the big challenge of the Virgin London Marathon on 25 April. Judith completed in 4 hours 52 minutes and Peter in 5 hours 34 minutes. Money is still being collected and they are likely to have raised in excess of £10,500.00. Both are still able to walk and are thoroughly deserving of their London Marathon medals.
Mark Savill finished the Cornish Marathon in a good time and without injury! He was expecting to be at least 6 and a half hours but did a time of 5 hours 47 minutes and was 75th (out of 117!). Parts of the course were very difficult with steep slopes and areas where you had to jump over rocks to get along the path, but the scenery was beautiful, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Mark raised over £3,000.
Mark Webley set off for the Himalayas at the end of March 2010 to trek to the summit of Mera Peak, a 21000 ft mountain in the region of Everest. He trekked for 12 days to get there, before ascending a glacier to the summit. Mark also had a longer trip than anticipated due to the volcanic ash, but has now made it back safely. Mark raised approximately £750.00.
All would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who has sponsored and supported them for this worthy cause.
