Denzil Lush

Denzil Lush was admitted as a solicitor in 1978, and was formerly a partner in the Exeter office of the firm now known as Foot Anstey. He was the twentieth and final Master of the Court of Protection (1996-2007) and became the first Senior Judge of the Court of Protection when the Mental Capacity Act 2005 came into force on 1 October 2007. He is the author of Elderly Clients: A Precedent Manual, Cohabitation: Law Practice and Precedents and Cretney & Lush on Lasting and Enduring Powers of Attorney. Denzil has recently retired from his role at the Court of Protection.

Denzil is a former member of the Law Society’s Mental Health and Disability sub-committee. His experience has given him a clear understanding of the issues facing survivors of a brain injury and their families.
