Lead Assessors needed for Headway Approved Provider scheme

Mon 06 Sep 2021

Headway’s Approved Provider project is a unique accreditation scheme for residential care units specialising in the support and rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain injury (ABI).

The scheme utilises standards developed to reflect the specific needs of people with ABI, using these to evaluate a range of facilities including hospitals and neuro-rehabilitation units, residential and nursing homes and supported living facilities.

The process involves units signing off a statement of compliance against each required standard and undergoing a robust on-site assessment, within an inspection system that also involves unannounced interim reviews.

We’re looking for professionals with relevant qualifications and such as OTs, SLTs or those with a nursing background, to conduct the assessments.

Lead Assessors are self-employed contractors who typically conduct two or three assessments per month, with each one taking approximately two days to complete.

Working alongside Service User Perspective (SUP) assessors, Lead Assessors use their experience and knowledge to recognise excellence and improve standards of care where required.

This opportunity would suit part-time or retired professionals who would like to support a scheme that can make a real difference to the lives of brain injury survivors and their families by ensuring they are given the specialist care they deserve.
