BBC Radio 5 Live interview brain injury survivor with five-day memory

Wed 31 Jul 2019

Brain injury survivor Ron Gains bravely shared his story with 5 Live's listeners on the Emma Barnett show. Ron and his wife Jayne talked about their experiences of what life is like following a brain injury, and the challenges faced as a result of short-term memory loss.

Speaking on the show, Ron said: "The organisation Headway has been fantastic with me. They've been a massive help to me. They gave me a Brain Injury ID Card that I can show.

"Brain injuries are terrible things and you can suffer with emotional difficulties, stress and anger, and people don't understand it. The card explains how you are as a result of your injury to those who don't know you."
