Headway Bath and District was delighted to receive a cheque for £1,750 from Bath Rugby Supporters Club.

The BRSC presented the cheque at an 'Ask the Ref' event with Tony Spreadbury, the RFU Head of Professional Officials, on 30th October in the Clubhouse at Bath Recreation Ground.

Throughout the year, the club held raffles at events including their annual awards supper to raise the funds.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of Headway Bath and District, Ali Bazley said: “It is an amazing amount and will make such a difference for Headway Bath helping them to continue to support people with a brain injury in the city.

"Headway is grateful to BRSC Chairman Kevin Lawrence and all of the BRSC members for their generosity in helping to raise this sum for the charity."

Kevin Lawrence, Chairman of Bath Rugby Supporters' Club said: "Headway stuck out to our supporters because of the amount of publicity there has been about head injuries and how they can impact players' careers, sometimes bringing them to an end.

"Rugby isn't just about the professional games, a lot of rugby takes place on a field on a Sunday morning. It's good to know there is an organisation in Bath supporting those people should they sustain an injury."
