Without Headway UK, families affected by brain injury would have little or no access to specialist support, information and advice. And it’s only possible because of our generous supporters.
In 2025, we:
Supported over 10,000 people on the free Headway UK Helpline, offering expert, compassionate support and advice
Saw over 34,000 downloads of our digital fact sheets and publications, helping survivor, families and professionals alike feel more informed.
Provided 610 grants from our Emergency Fund, enabling families to be together in the early stages of injury
Issued over 1,700 new Brain Injury ID Cards, enabling survivors of brain injury to feel more confident in social situations, as well as access to appropriate support
Alongside supporting the national network of Headway volunteer-led groups and independent charities.
We have also strengthened and invested in other key services, including training for health and social care professionals and those working within the criminal justice system.
There is no doubt that financial pressures on the wider charity sector bring significant challenges. Yet despite these difficulties, Headway UK has remained steadfast in its commitment to supporting brain injury survivors, their families, and carers.
And none of this would’ve been possible without our incredible supporters, to whom we’re so incredibly thankful.

Support our work
We need your help
Every 90 seconds, someone is admitted to a UK hospital with a brain injury. Your donation helps Headway UK provide specialist advice and support to brain injury survivors and their loved ones.
£9
could help fund a Headway Brain Injury Identity Card every month, giving brain injury survivors confidence in social situations and access to the right support.
