Matched Giving

Every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with a brain injury. Whichever way you support Headway UK, you’ll be helping improve life after brain injury – and ensuring no one faces it alone.

Matched Giving (sometimes called Match Funding) is when an organisation matches the amount an employee donates or fundraises.

While there isn’t a complete list of companies taking part, many companies will have a Matched Giving scheme, including:

  • Banks and building societies

  • Insurance companies

  • Utility providers (for example, electric and gas)

  • Phone and internet companies

  • Supermarkets

Find out how it works and what you need to do

Ask your employer or HR colleagues if they have a Matched Giving Scheme. If they do they will provide you with a form to complete.

If your employer doesn’t have a Matched Giving scheme

You can ask them if they would consider matching your donation or fundraising. Or you could ask them to consider setting up a Matched Giving scheme for the organisation, enabling your colleagues and more charities to benefit.

If your employer agrees to Match Give your donation or fundraising

If your employer agrees to match your donation or fundraising, make sure to let us know. Ask your employer to mention your name in their payment reference to us so that we can say thank you.
