Other Services

The main focus of our support groups is on social activities, which we provide in warm, friendly and relaxing environments. Group members give regular feedback on the activities and events they would like to participate in. These vary from arts and crafts, board games, table tennis, bowling, quiz’s to just simply having a discussion over a tea/coffee. There is an educational element to the groups and some of the topics covered have previously included brain fatigue, hidden illness and social isolation.

Other Activities

At the request of members we have invited guest speakers who have delivered talks on a variety of areas including the following; benefits, carer’s issues, self-directed support, science workshop, healthy eating, and energy advice. Each group meets regularly in the same venue but we have taken part in activities at different locations. For example, we have previously visited a local museum/art gallery, gone bowling, been on a boat trip, had a BBQ and also managed to take 37 members and their carers/families to an activity centre for the day.
