The February 2026 90km challenge brought together hundreds of incredible Headway supporters of all ages and abilities — and we loved seeing how everyone made the challenge their own. From daily dog walks and lunchtime laps to long weekend treks, our supporters showed real determination and enthusiasm throughout the month.

Smashing our fundraising target

Together, you didn’t just rise to the challenge — you smashed it, collectively flying past our £50,000 fundraising target. Thanks to your efforts, we’ve raised vital funds to help Headway UK continue providing specialist support, information and services for people living with the effects of brain injury.

Building on the success of our previous virtual walking challenges, February’s event once again showed the power of coming together for a cause. Throughout the month, we saw supporters sharing their progress, cheering each other on and opening up about their personal reasons for taking part — creating a fantastic sense of community that carried everyone over the finish line.

Walking with purpose

Many of you chose to walk in honour of a loved one, to support local Headway services, or to celebrate your own recovery journey following a brain injury. Others saw the challenge as a great way to stay active during the winter months while doing something meaningful. However you took part, every step made a difference.

Thank you to everyone who took part

Eden Harlow, Headway’s Events Fundraiser, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who committed to walking 90km this February. Whether supporters walked every day or broke the distance down in their own way, the dedication, positivity and encouragement shown throughout the challenge was inspiring. Events like this really do make a difference to people living with brain injury.”

Participants fundraised through online sponsorship pages and shared their journeys on social media, helping to raise awareness of brain injury alongside much‑needed funds. The visibility of the challenge also sparked important conversations about the long‑term impact of brain injury and the ongoing support many people need.

With February’s challenge now complete, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, shared posts or cheered supporters on. You made the challenge a fantastic success — and we’re already looking ahead to future virtual fundraising events, with even more opportunities to get involved, stay active and help improve life after brain injury.
