Headway welcomes new Chair and trustees

Wed 02 Jul 2025

Headway UK has appointed a new Chair and Treasurer to its board having said farewell to five outstanding trustees who have recently retired after years of dedicated service.

Following a comprehensive recruitment exercise, Belinda Moore was elected as the new Chair of Trustees following the charity’s AGM in June, with Rob Callan named as Treasurer.

Belinda brings with her over 30 years of experience in senior marketing and communications roles across the UK and overseas, including in health and social care. Her most recent executive role was as Chief Marketing Officer for E.ON Energy. Belinda’s strategic insight and passion for positive change will be invaluable in helping us build on our successes and face future challenges with confidence. Like several other members of the Headway UK board, Belinda also has personal experience of supporting a loved one living with a brain injury.

Rob brings extensive financial and governance experience and will play a key role in overseeing the charity’s financial strategy. Two additional trustees, Mario Ganau, a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Oxford University Hospitals, and Khadija Ali, a practicing NHS doctor and Chair of Headway South Manchester and Stockport, were also appointed at the AGM.

Farewell and thanks

The appointment of the new trustees follows the departure of five long-standing board members who have chosen to retire.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Denzil Lush, Andrew Harding, June Gilchrist, Colin Reeves and Andrew Green for their years of dedicated service. Their expertise, commitment and compassion have helped shape the charity's direction and supported our work to improve life after brain injury across the UK.

Each has brought their own unique contribution to the organisation, whether through legal insight, financial guidance, healthcare experience or lived expertise of brain injury. Their influence and advocacy have made a lasting difference to our work and the people we support.

We are incredibly grateful to all our trustees – past and present – for their leadership, time and commitment.
