Q&A: Rosemary Shaw
Headway has helped answer some of the questions that l kept asking.
A Q&A with brain injury survivor Rosemary Shaw.
I like the fact that my family and the people around me give me support. The blessing is that l have a job at the post office. My colleagues have given support to me, as has my local GP and hospital.
The people who understand me the most are my immediate family; they can tell whether l am likely to need help.
The most frustrating thing about my brain injury is that l am inquisitive and always looking for information about the latest neuro things. This is strange as l never cared about anything like that before.
Headway has helped answer some of the questions that l kept asking and they have given me a way to express myself.
If l could go anywhere in the world it’d be to see the Northern Lights and the Icelandic countries. The sky and colours remind me of the feeling l had just after surgery. Everything looked different; very clean and very bright.
That life is life is for living.
That everyday l am remembering things that l had forgotten.
