Joining our growing network of advocates are:
Wendy Chamberlain, Liberal Democrat MP for North East Fife
Ian Byrne, Labour MP for Liverpool West Derby
Baroness Morris of Yardley, Labour member of the House of Lords
These dedicated individuals have pledged to work alongside Headway to raise awareness of acquired brain injury (ABI) and to advocate for meaningful policy and legislative change. Their support is vital in helping us improve the lives of brain injury survivors and their families across the UK.
What Do Headway’s Parliamentary Champions Do?
Headway’s Parliamentary Champions play a crucial role in:
- Raising awareness of the challenges faced by people living with brain injury
- Lobbying for improved services, including access to neurorehabilitation and community-based support
- Challenging inequalities in care and support across different regions
- Supporting national campaigns, such as Action for Brain Injury Week
- Working cross-party to influence government policy and secure a fully funded ABI strategy
By championing these causes in Parliament, they help ensure that brain injury remains a political priority and that survivors receive the support they need to live fulfilling lives.
