Andy Tyerman BEM
Dr Andy Tyerman is a retired Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 40 years' experience working with brain injury survivors. He was Head of Service at the Community Head Injury Service based in Aylesbury for 28 years.
Andy has provided numerous teaching sessions for the Headway network and served on local Headway boards and on the Headway UK board since 2014.
Andy has an impressive record of NHS service awards, good practice citations and personal awards. He has published numerous research articles, presented papers at national and international conferences and contributed to the development of national rehabilitation guidelines and standards.
In 2024 Andy was awarded the British Empire Medal for Services to Rehabilitation after Acquired Brain Injury and the Monte Shapiro Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Psychological Society Division of Clinical Psychology.
Andy continues to advise and teach on rehabilitation after brain injury.
