Job Role - Area Support
- Supporting shops 2 days in the Midlands region, 1 day home based.
- To act as a general assistant to the Area Manager; supporting the maximisation of profits and income potential through effective management, support, training, capacity and action plans.
- To understand all Headway policies, procedures and operating practises which relate to shops and to be able to implement them to the highest possible standard.
- To support recruitment of paid and voluntary staff.
- To train new Managers and Deputy Managers in all aspects of shop operations to meet the Headway standard, enabling shops to run efficiently at all times.
- To undertake such other reasonable tasks as may, from time to time, be deemed necessary.
- To make a positive contribution to the Retail team and maintain good relationships with colleagues and volunteers.
- To initiate, research and develop new retail ideas in consultation and agreement with the Area Manager.
- To keep up to date with changes to current practices and policies and to train staff accordingly.
- Comply with Headway's Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies and undertake appropriate training and personal development as appropriate
- To be prepared to work away from home as and when required.
Job Role - Shop Manager
- Based in our Eastwood Charity Shop 2 days.
- Lead a team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative, and customer-centric work environment.
- Oversee all aspects of shop operations, including stock management, sales, customer service, and loss prevention.
- Achieve ambitious sales targets and implement strategies to maximise shop performance.
- Deliver online selling on platforms.
- Build strong relationships with customers, resolving inquiries and complaints with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
- Deliver community engagement to share the understanding of Headways services.
- Organise and run creative fundraising events for your store to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
About You
- 12 months proven experience of managing a Headway Charity shop, and knowledge of Headway’s policies and procedures.
- Retail management experience, preferably in a charity setting.
- Good levels of numeracy and literacy, with strong attention to detail. The ability to manage and motivate a shop team.
- A strong track record of delivering excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- The ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
- Proficiency in retail technology systems a plus.
- A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others
